PROJECT BRIEF
The Project for Development of Malindi Fish Landing and Marketing Facilities in Zanzibar

OUTLINE OF THE PROJECT
In Zanzibar, Tanzania, Fisheries is the main industry and plays an important role in terms of employment. However, Malindi Fishing Port, Zanzibar's largest fresh fish distribution center, is in a dangerous condition due to a collapsed landing quay, and the freshness of the fish is significantly deteriorating during wholesale, auction, retail, and processing without proper shelter or drainage. This cooperation supported the construction of the landing quay and the market building at Malindi fish landing site, as well as the procurement of equipment. This has improved freshness and hygiene of fresh fish at the site, and contributed to a stable supply of high-quality fisheries products.
