PROJECT BRIEF
Project for The Improvement of Fish Landing Center of Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation in Cox's Bazar District

OUTLINE OF THE PROJECT
The landing center of the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) in Cox's Bazar District is an important facility that handles about 85% of the district's annual catch. However, since riverbank erosion along the Bakkhali River in 2012 caused the landing jetty, fish handling area, and revetment to collapse, the facilities have remained in a dangerous condition. This project develops facilities, including a revetment, floating pontoons, a fish handling hall, and a traders' office building, and provides equipment such as fish washing tanks, aiming to improve the efficiency of landing and handling and the quality of the catch, thereby contributing to a safe fish supply for consumers and the sustainable development of the country's fisheries.
